Judy Hill's Show and Sale

Judy Hill's Show and Sale

OMG: To say that this lovely lady has talent is an understatment. Last year I attended Judy Hill's sale in Kilgore Texas for the first time.
It was her Christmas show and it was AMAZING. Full of great finds, wonderful ideas, and beautiful rooms. And it is all in HER OWN HOME.
She has a sale from her home twice a year, Christmas and Spring. Everything is for sale, floor to ceiling, wall to wall. It's amazing. The link
above will take you to my post from last year's Christmas sale. This year's sale is on Dec 3rd, starting at 10:00 am. I'll be there and if you
are within a few hundred miles you should be too. It's an event for sure.

Back Stage

I've had the privileged of actually being back stage at a couple of theater and ballet productions, and It's a fabulous place to hang out. To see all the behind the scenes activity, preparation and anticipation. I must say that being on the inside of an open house like Winnie & Tulula's had last night is a very similar experience.

Here are a few pics of some of the antics going on behind the scenes, and then a few of the wonderful displays that were a honor to behold. I hope you enjoy.

I didn't take many pics after the doors opened, due to how busy we were. But David did and as soon as he gets them loaded I'll let you all know.
I met several lurkers and bloggers and that is always fun. So glad you all came out.

Here are David's Pics

Happy Thanksgiving-and a Challenge

Challenge: List something you are thankful for, BUT it cannot be the usual stuff.
You cannot say family, kids, health, happiness or any of that stuff, we are all thankful for that.
You must think outside the box for this one. Think of all the stuff of life that makes it a better one for you. I'd share my list but I don't want to influence you. Let's see what great stuff you can come up with.

ya'll are coming up with some great stuff, can't wait to see more.

Don't forget the Winnie & Tulula's open house this evening, and Saturday.

Is It Christmas Yet?????

Seems like it's been Christmas for a month. I've been so busy with shows and sales. First was the sale at Our Little Corner, then last weekend at the Gresham Barn. And now the last one starting this Friday at 4pm, yes I said Friday (black Friday), at
Winnie & Tulula's.

I went to work on my space yesterday and let me tell you, this is a sale you cannot miss. You simply cannot miss it.
I don't care who is in town, or how tired you are from cooking turkey, you simply must be there.

This place is decked out like you've never seen before. So much talent in one place. Gloria has so many wonderful things in Sweet Pea's. And all the Tulula Heads are pulling out all the stops for this sale.

I can't show many pics, but here's a little to wet your whistle.
See you there, See side bar for details.

PS: I'll be posting updates on Michelle's progress as I get them.
Thank you for your prayers.

Michelle Update

Here is the latest update on Michelle, she wrote this herself. Thank you to all who have been called to pray. I have discovered that just about everyone in Tyler knows Michelle. I've heard people talking about it in Macy's. I was telling a friend the other day and she said "are you talking about Michelle T?" So she is our one degree of separation in this sweet east texas town I call home. Imagine how powerful it would be if she was healed. God has his plan, and we cannot know what it is. I do know that she only has 20% liver function, this procedure could destroy the whole liver if it goes bad, and that would not be good. Please pray over the procedure she is going through this week. Details are below. Bless you all.

Well,
Here comes the update to the best of our knowledge. We will plan on leaving Tyler about noon today so that we can be settled in Houston before dark.
First we will meet with our Melanoma specialist just for a general check up; and for all the pre admit stuff.
Next, we are supposed to be meeting wit the IR specialists who will actually place the chemo beads into the liver. This will be done in a special lab with a catheter through the groin and into the hepatic arteries. Apparently, this will be done in three different procedures. Unsure yet of the wait time between each one. We will be discussing options and i guess booking a time for the following day! I hope!
Although this drug has not really been used in Melanoma, it has been used in hepatic cell carcinoma( liver ca). We are hoping that if we can clean up enough of the liver then we can concentrate on the other drugs that will be used specifically for Melanoma.

So, that being said, here are a couple of requests;

1 Safe travel to Houston,
2 Appts go on time and as planned and that we will be there the least amount of time possible.
3 Please pray for my girls! They will be staying here and that just breaks my heart!
4 Please continue to pray for Andy!!! He is so strong for me. I know that he gets everybit of his strength from our Lord.

Last but not least I ask that you will ask God to bless each and every person that he has sent into our lives through this illness, this horrible disease. Whether they have been sent to bless us or that we have been sent to bless them, I just pray daily that we will do the will of God and fulfill these blessings.

It is very early and I am on pain meds, so i will go for now.

We will try to update as quickly as possible while we are there.

WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!

RoboProject Junky Tree Part 3

Part 3 See below for parts 1 & 2 of this project

I continue adding fun stuff all the way around, Various ribbons, strings of pearls,
More junk, and more balls. I want to see as little of the topiary form as possible.

I also learned that hanging things at different levels fills in the spaces.
Large items also help to "fill in". We'll finish this project up tomorrow.

RoboProject Junky Tree Part 2

Continuing this great fun tree project. I began to sprinkle in various bits of junk between the christmas balls. Using both jute and ribbon to tie them on.

Any little thing was fair game, including this great old tin type that I like to call "uncle charlie"

We are still far from done, Check back tomorrow

Robo Junker Tree Project Part 1

This is my first year to actually have a booth space during the Christmas season. Because of this, I've been living Christmas for the last month.

As I was helping Jodi get ready for the Gresham Sale (which starts Thursday evening with a preview at 4:00) I was inspired by this project she did with old picture frames, seen above.
I headed out to my barn to get a frame to make one, and then I saw this tree shaped topiary that I recently purchased. The creative wheels began to turn. Jodi's project morphed into a Robo Project. I'll be sharing this project in parts and separate posts. So check back daily for the complete project.

Step 1

As I said I started with this spiral tree shaped topiary form. It's about 16" tall when sat on top of an old clay pot. First I began by tying vintage balls on it, spaced evenly. I used jute rope as the ties for this part.
Stay tuned for more, I'm far from finished.

Update on Michelle

Update on My friend Michele:
"Dear friends and family,
We will be traveling to Houston on Sunday
(pray for safe travel) and we have
appointments with physicians on Monday.
It was not God's timing that
the procedure would be done this week. As it turns
out the best physician
for the procedure was
not available till this coming Monday.
The procedure is known as a
transcatheter arterial chemoembolization.
They will be treating 1/3
of her liver to shrink the
tumors and regain better liver function.
It will be at least a
month before they
can repeat the procedure. This is a serious
procedure so we ask for
you to pray
for God's intervention.Pray that He would
guide the doctor's hands and
mind.
Thank you for all your prayers. May the
Lord shower each and every one
of you
with blessings for the kindness and
love you have shown our
family."

Groupings

For my recent booth re-do for Christmas, I've been really working on groupings. I've learned from my mentors that the impact of one or a few is far less than the impact of many.
Above you see my grouping of white milk glass vases. Usually found very inexpensively but I love the statement they make as a group with just simple greenery. Here are a few other attempts I've made at Groupings.

On the mantle are groupings of silvery shiney things. All my new Mercury glass orns are in a clear jar with a few scattered around. A group of thread spools on the left with christmas greenery in them, and groupings of old jewelry boxes and 3 angels I made. I really love how this mantle turned out.

I decided to hange these vintage ornaments from a wire strung across this frame for greater impact

And all these santa mugs were right at home in this bowl and just above it on the shelf. They almost sold out.

Well that is my attempt at display by grouping. Having fun learning along the way.
